Full Description
{1} Proceeding eastward at left corner of road leading down from Newland is boundary of Grey Friars. A wall with buttresses indicates use at early period. The only remaining vestige of the monastery. Note: could this be confused with Whitefriars?;
{2} Possible boundary wall is shown for Greyfriars, the same visual representation as that for Whitefriars to north [called Grey Friars by Speed] but more extensive in area.
{3} The "great gates" of the Greyfriars appear to have been in Whitefriars Lane [Wood Street] rather than Newlands.
