Full Description

{1}One pit or ditch found in section 1.0m wide at top with sides tapering down to a rounded base - reached a depth of 0.80m. Lower fill comprised orange mottled brown silt loam with limestone; upper fill comprised medium grey humic loam with occasional limestone, animal bone fragments and charcoal flecks. 2 sherds of medieval pottery (of possibly 12th century date) and 2 fragments of metal slag.
