Known as Castle Lane in 1746 leading west from Horsemarket to the river.

{2}Castle Lane leading from Horse Market to river & passing castle site which at this time was an orchard;

{3}Castle Street leading from Horse Market to River Nene; runs along north side of castle earthwork remains & Castle Hill;

{4}Castle Street leading from Horse Market to River Nene passing earthwork remains of castle; possibly cutting across north gate of innner bailey & barbican;
