Full Description

{1} Possible circular enclosures on The Racecourse defined by low banks were observed and sketched; first report from Dr Welsh interprets the features as possible Romano-British settlement remains obscured by medieval/post medieval ridge and furrow; his second report reveals that the area was not only used as World War II barracks but was also the site of a childrens playground with swings and slides in 1923. Thus it appears likely that most if not all the features are attributable to modern activity.

{2} Circular enclosure 10m wide with low bank 5m broad plus two other banks. Remains overlain by ridge and furrow - author speculates for prehistoric/medieval date.
