Full Description
{1} St James' Abbey was surrendered on 25th August 1538 & estate was granted to Nicholas Giffard; built mansion on site of abbey;
{2} "....mansion house called St James' near Northampton lately built upon ground sometime belonging to late dissolved abbey....";
[3} Also known as 'The Hall House' and 'St James' House'. It had nine closes attached to it in the 17th century (NRO: X3449). It burnt down before 1680.
