Full Description

{1} Geddington Conduit House was erected in 1769 and restored in 1868. The conduit house is associated with the standing Queen Eleanor cross and is an unusual example of public water supplies being constructed in close proximity to a royal memorial. Small rectangular stone building with two round-arched windows. Building used for collecting water in cisterns.

{2} Stands in juxtaposition with the Eleanor Cross in the centre of the village. It was built in 1769 to supply the village with water and the rectangular stone chamber is still intact.

{3} To south (of the Eleanor Cross) is a low block, "built 1789" (on shield), topped by a single massive slab and containing 2 round-headed entrances (with studded round-headed doors) leading to the spring over which the cross is built. A metal plate records that "This monument is in the care of the Ministry of Public Building and Works".
