Full Description

{1} A ditch and postholes contained Iron Age pottery. Ditches 9-12 contained a good sequence of early-middle Saxon and middle Saxon pottery, including Ipswich ware. Other features included two ditches (including one which had been re-cut three times), a possible pit and three postholes, all of which had no dating evidence.Two finds were found within the topsoil during trial trenching. Fragment of a hand quern made from lava-stone and a possible heckle-tooth used for carding wool or flax.
