Full Description

{1} Cropmarks seen on aerial photograph (Photo number 3690121 - Northampton Records collection in the public library). D. Blackburn speculates as to whether this may be building remains, however it appears to be as a result of quarrying.

{2} A small quarry pit is shown in the 1880s (current mapped extent), with a track leading to it from the north-east. Recent Google Earth imagery (May 2009) suggests that the quarry subsequently expanded greatly. Geology suggests that it was a sand and gravel quarry.
