Full Description

{1} Tithe award map made 1778 and used for Tithe Award 1840. Shows circular pond with island in middle, located in middle of woods.

{2} Visited in August 1742; "….Duke of Marlborough also improved beautiful park….with a round Basin of water having an eight in middle and communicating with a short serpentine river….".
