Full Description

{1} Prefabricated concrete building constructed during World War Two for use as an "open plan" office block. Building may represent an early example of this type of concrete construction,

{2} Prefabricated concrete building reportedly constructed during WW2 for use as an 'open plan' office block. Building reputedly an early example of this type of construction. Adjoining small block to the east contains a washroom. Until recently a wooden cycle shed also reportedly present. The latter recently demolished with the remainder of the building derelict. Constructed in 1941 and known as building 2A. This 4 span building housed the majority of the Depot's clerical staff during WW2 and for some years afterwards (WBHS 1996 p19). Building number 45.

{3} Intended as office accommodation rather than as a warehouse and as such unique "as during this period" (WWII) "additional warehousing appears to have been provided solely by 36ft Nissen huts."
