Full Description

{2} Features located in 1950 within town. At least three superimposed road surfaces were seen, no further details.

{4} Archaeological observation of drainage improvement trenches along the A5 at Towcester identified a very worn and compacted metalled cobble surface, between 1.20-1.30m below the current road surface in two trenches. No dating evidence was recovered.
