Full Description

{1}C18th plan shows bowling green on ground rising to south of house;,

{3}From plan once preserved in library it would seem that space between yews & house was occupied by bowling green;,

{5}C19th copy of early C18th map shows bowling green as square area lying immediately south of house;,

{6}Appears to lie within rectangular sunken area from 1970/80s aerial photographs; unclear whether original bowling green was sunken;,

{7}South side of house looks upon lawn of velvety smoothness rising slightly to distant yew hedges;
