Full Description

{1} A well was found within St Luke's churchyard beneath a stone lintel (80cm x 23cm x 18cm). It comprised two slabs of stone (5cm thick) with a gap between them and resting on an iron rail. The well appeared to be circular and approximately 2m internal diameter. The depth of the well was approximately 6.9m. It would appear to have been part of a cottage complex and later became incorporated into the churchyard as it expanded.
