Full Description

{1} Oval enclosure noted in Lings wood. Approximate overall dimensions 115m X 90m. A bank between 15-21m broad, but no more than 1m high. There is no sign of an entrance. T.C. Welsh speculates about origin/function of the enclosure in connection with the mound at SP80296394). Possible Iron Age ringwork, Saxon ringwork, motte and bailey castle, landscaping around Lings House or remains from 18th century race course.
