Summary

A Neolithic ground and polished flint axe was found on 1st November 1969 in a ploughed field "at the top of the (Iyvedon) Valley near Brigstock" by R Walker, then a schoolboy at Kettering Grammar School. The axe is in the Westfield Museum, Kettering.

Full Description

{2} Ground and polished axe (stone or flint not stated) found on Saturday November 1 1969 in a recently ploughed field'at the top of the (lyvedon) Valley near Brigstock', by Roger Walker, a schoolboy of Kettering Grammer school.

{4} This is a chipped and polished Neolithic flint axe.

{5} Mr Steane (headmaster of the Grammer School) indicated the site of this find at SP 96128581. The axe is in the Westfield Museum Kettering.
