Summary

A Bronze Age urned cremation was found in the 19th century during quarrying. The small Bronze Age drinking cup or beaker is marked with a herring-bone pattern and was found in the surface soil of a gravel pit. It is now in Northampton Museum.

Full Description

{3} Quarrying in the late C19th revealed a small Bronze Age pot vessel with herringbone decoration, now in Northampton Museum. Unlocated, but possibly from the gravel pit at TL07089381; Found late C19th, probable urn illustrated in ref1, Abercrombie J. 1912.

{4} A small Bronze Age drinking cup marked with a herring-bone pattern was found in Fotheringhay parish in the surface soil above the gravels which yielded a Palaeolithic implement [? TL 09 SE 13].

{8} Peterborough museum have no information concerning this find - almost certainly a Beaker.
