Full Description

{2} Find from garden. A silver penny of William I. BMC type VII, probably 1083-86, but possibly 1080-83. Obverse: King in profile with sceptre and 'William Rex'. Reverse: short cross with trefoil in each angle and 'BRIHTRED ON OXSE'. Issued by moneyer Brihtraed at the mint at Oxford. This is a rare coin and is in good condition. Seen at Northampton Museum on 30/11/1988.
