Full Description
{1} A Neolithic axe was found somewhere in Kings Sutton and was purchased by the Ashmolean Museum in 1896 [possibly incorrect date?].
{2} Kings Sutton. Ashmolean Museum No. 1948.192. Nickel green in the darkest parts, mottled with tea-green. There is a foliation running slightly oblique to the median plane. Type Iia. Polished. Length: 11.35cm. Width: 5.4cm. T. 2.6cm, at 5cm from butt end. Weight 239.7gm. Sp.gr. 3.29. The material is probably pyroxene near jadeite but no material was detached for refractive index or X-ray determination.
