Full Description

{1} In 1899 3rd-century Roman pottery and kiln furniture were discovered north of Bakehouse Lane at about SP 839668.

{4} Nearby greyware (RB) sherds have been found at SP 838667.

{5} Mears Ashby (SP 839668) Kiln destroyed 1899, late 2c pottery and kiln furniture.

{6} Pottery and kiln bars held by Northampton museum. The precise site of this kiln is not known; the NGR of Authy 4 being to a general area only. R Moore (authy 4 - Keeper Northampton Museum) has also searched for the site without success.
