Full Description
{1} An Iron Age enclosure of almost square form with straight sides. Wood fragments and beetles' wing-cases were found int eh fill of the enclosure ditch. Several intersecting ditches formed subsidiary enclosures within the main feature. Hand-made sherds were dated to c.1st century BC.
{2} Iron Age settlement (SP 803604) SW of Clifford hill, on gravel at 52 m. above OD. Excavations during gravel-working in 1972 revealed a rectangular enclosure, 60 m by 54 m and several intersecting
ditches, forming subsidiary enclosures, were found within it. The pottery indicated a late Iron Age occupation.
