Summary

Roman sherds and tile found in Grendon parish while field walking, Spring 1966. In 1971 a 4th century bronze coin was found and in February 1973 the find of a coin of Constantius was reported.

Full Description

{1} Roman sherds and tile found by Hollowell by fieldwalking in spring 1966.

{2} Yardley Road, area of SP877595. Several patches of limestone, roof tile and a varied collection of Roman pottery, found in 1966. A C4th bronze coin was also found in 1971.

{3} A coin of Constantius II, Fel Temp Reparatio horseman imitation (c.355 AD) was found in February 1973.

{4} Several areas of limestone rubble and roof tile, associated with Roman pottery, were recorded in 1966. A C4th bronze coin was found in 1971 and another in 1974.

{5} Fieldwalking in 1966 revealed a limestone area with Romano-British pot sherds and roof tile. Fieldworker R.Hollowell. Yardley Road.

{6} R Hollowell confirmed the area but has lost the 3 or 4 sherds and one piece of tile that he found. Site under crop.
