Monument record 3708/0/1 - Possible Roman well, containing a skeleton

A Roman walled well containing skeleton and urn fragments was found to the south of the church at Loddington.

{1} A Roman walled well found south of the church. It contained a skeleton, head downwards, and fragments of several urns.

{2} Possible Roman well, perhaps at SP815780, said to have been found south of the church, presumably during ironstone mining, before 1904. It was 'walled' and contained a skeleton and fragments of several 'urns'.

{4} A walled well containing a skull, found south of the church in ironstone quarrying on the hilltop near Loddington, in 1903.

{5} Northampton Museum could not trace these finds.
