Monument record 3768/0/1 - Iron Age Settlement, west of Warkton Lane

Numerous late Iron Age ditches and pits were observed in foundation trenches during housing development in 1968. No coherent plan was recovered

{3} Features found in 1968, consisted of ditches and pits; Iron Age pot sherds were found during the development; photos of the excavation taken in June/ December 1968.

{4} SP 895 783: Iron Age 'B' settlement discovered by P Kille and B F Dix. Excavated by the latter in conjuncton with F V Lyall (Kettering Museum). In foundation trenches and service trenches on the Lodge Farm Estate, numerous gullies and pits were revealed and examined. There was too little to form a proper plan of the settlement but it must have been quite extensive - comparable only to that excavated at Twywell in 1967. The site is now built over.
