Full Description

{1} It is recorded that 'near the church is a motte hill from which many Roman coins and Antiquities have been dug' [source {4}] but this probably refers to the site of the medieval manor house. However, Roman coins and pottery recorded as being found in the parish may have come from this site.

{3} Roman coins and pottery have been found at Gretton.

{5} The information of authority 3 is listed in the card index of Northampton Museum with the identical reference. The present location of the finds or their original provenance are unknown to the Museum.
