Monument record 1741/0/2 - Possible Iron Age settlement

Iron Age pit site containing pottery was revealed when digging of a pipeline trench was carried out. Also cropmarks visible on air photographs taken in 1980 revealed an enclosure, suggesting a possible settlement.

{1} North of Stanwick on limestone at 150ft above OD. A pipeline trench cut through a pit containing Iron Age pottery;

{2} D N Hall- gives grid reference as SP975719

{3} A very indistinct cropmark was noted on aerial photographs of this area in 1980 (G Foard 4/8/80);
