Monument record 1160/337/1 - Derngate (Formerly Swynewellestrete)

Known as Swinewell Street in the medieval period. Derngate only referred to the actual gate through the town wall.

{1} Derngate or referred to as Darngate leads from St Giles Street in a south-easterly direction to the Darngate (V) and is known outside the gate as the Bedford Road.

{2} Darngate leading from St Giles Square to the medieval town perimeter.
