Full Description

{1} C17th & C18th & C19th chest tombs; C17th chest tomb with partially legible description; chest tomb dated to 1763 with partially legible script to Rowles family; chest tomb probably dated to late C18th; partially legible inscription on top slab; pair of late C18th chest tombs; northernmost has inscriptions to William Law who died 1761 & Hester Gibbon 1790 & Sarah Law 1781; tomb to south has inscription to Elizabeth Hutcheson who died 1781; William Law & Elizabeth Hutcheson were responsibvle for charitable foundations in Kings cliffe; in 1725 William Law published "A Serious Call To A Devout & Holy Life"; chest tomb dated 1797 & 1805 & 1850 with partially legible inscriptions to Burton family; Obelisk: churchyard monument & attached surround; earliest date of 1839; squared & each face of obelisk has 4 rectangular panels with inscriptions to Cunnington family; slabs are inscribed with dates & initials.
