Full Description

{1} (SP 539563) Tumulus marked on the map "removed about 40 years since". (No trace is visible on available AP's.)

{2} There is said to have been a tumulus at around SP540563, which was destroyed in the early C19th. The site is covered by ridge and furrow and there is no sign of a mound at this point. The reference may be a misplacement and mis-interpretation of the mill mound to the south-west [HER Mon No.383/1/1].

{3} RCHME give SP540563 as ngr for mound. This area is covered with ridge and furrow, and therefore their reference may be a mislocation of the windmill mound to the south-west [HER Mon No.383/1/1].
