Summary
Probable building stone was identified during fieldwalking survey and a trench excavated over the top confirmed the presence of stone foundations. Associated pottery and tile dates to the Roman period.

Full Description
{1}{2} Stone area found by G Harvey during fieldwalking - seen by G Mico. Line of stones at edge of recently ploughed field. Not possible to tell whether the stones were worked or not, but they did appear to have been laid. Stone area extends approx 10m x 0.5m.4 abraded pot sherds, possibly Roman, together with fragments of oyster shell and tile were found in close proximity. Single metal object, a roughly rectangular sheet approx 34 x 35 mm with two rectangular pierced holes.
{3} Trench put across line of stone line. Indicates further stone line leading west from original area, also appears to continue east into field.
