Full Description

{1}Set upon a substantial rectangular brick and concrete foundation (3.33m x 4.40m x 1.75m high) the winding drum comprises a horizontal rusting iron wheel supported within the remains of a stout wooden frame. The wheel has a diameter of approximately 1.70m. Much of the brake mechanism survives and comprises an iron strap (with traces of wooden lining) set around the lower part of the wheel with tension adjusted through a geared hand wheel.
