Full Description

{1} Kitchells Field: The composition of the pottery assemblage found during fieldwalking suggests that the settlement, which may be an Iron Age foundation, was abandoned during the 2nd century AD and there was no direct link with the late Saxon village.
A concentration of late Saxon pottery has also been found in the same area, located on the 75m contour, concentrated within the area formed by the main street and the southern back lane where 100m sherds have been found within an area of less than 6ha.
