Full Description

{1} Well; square limestone stone shaft about 0.72m across; lining of irregular fragments of limestone, some showing signs of having been reused. The infill of the shaft was dominated by an orange brown sand which contained variable amounts of gravel and occasional large limestones. Four wooden stakes were present in the corners of the shaft (probably related to the construction of the shaft, but had no obvious structural function). No dating evidence was recovered and there was little potential for environmental analysis.
