Monument record 8290/0/1 - Undated Earthwork Bank, north of Eagle Drive
Please read our guidance about the use of Northamptonshire Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
Slight earthwork bank aligned approximately east to west. It is undated but Lidar imagery suggests that it predates ridge and furrow earthworks that survive at the east end. It has been suggested that it may be associated defences created during the Battle of Northampton (1460).

Full Description
{1} Earthwork bank of considerable breadth of 16-20m. Two displacements of alignment at SP76495890 and SP76555891. The earthwork cuts across several furlongs. T.C.Welsh speculates as to possible association with 1460 battle lines.
