Summary

The stone foundations of a building were identified during archaeological investigation. Nearby pottery dated to the late medieval and post-medieval periods.

Full Description

{1} Only a six metre wide corridor was stripped. In this strip there was a possible stone building of the post medieval period. Pottery-sampled from several hundred sherds, iron work, bone and stone scatter to the north and east of possible stone building. Sampled pottery: 3 sherds ?late Medieval, 16 sherds post-medieval 16th+century. Also 1 FE buckle.... Gordon Heritage reports 3 late 17th century trade tokens from site. Possible wall line drawn in on rough map. This shows a possible corner of building-two walls join at right angle.
