Full Description

{1} An ill-defined linestone feature ran along the southern edge of the trench. There were not enough stones to establish whether it was the bottom of a retaining wall or a dump of rubble. It rests on post medieval deposits. The final dump layer was overlain by a cobbled surface which was directly below the present lawn turf. Post medieval pottery and a large quantity of animal bone was also recovered from the trench.

{2} A number of approximately linear disturbances on the north side of the house. Trenching in this area exposed a post medieval stone floor and terrace with stone paving. Other such features, and possibly wall footings, could be present.
