Full Description

{1} The quarries were served by standard gauge tramway running from twywell station yard and over the brook to run between the latter and the Thrapston to Kettering road.
The 1881 map shows an apparently narrow gauge line running from te quarries near Woodford Lodge to a tipping dock on the standard gauge line from Twywell Lodge to a tipping dock on the standard gauge line from Twywell station to the Redbrinks area. The narrow gauge portion is shown on the map as passing under the road by the same tunnel as that subsequently used by the Twywell iron Ore Co's standard gague branch from the original line.
