Full Description

{1} Trial trench excavation identified a possible limestone surface embedded on the natural red/orange clays with limestone and Cornbrash mixed yellow clays respectively. A posthole sealed by the surface, contained a brown loam with limestone lumps. Both features were undated. A land drain and pit cut into the subsoil and contained 19th century pottery and glass.
