Full Description
{1} Burial site of a race horse called "Connistone". The legend in the stone block (pink granite ?) set in an ironstone wall is badley eroded and had the same lichen growth and therefore differcult to read. Groundsman indicated that Connistone had won the Oaks and the Derby in 1843. The horse was born in 1840 and died in 1864. Possibility that a painting of the horse still exists(?). The stone is in the Paddocks built by the Spencer family for their race horses.
