Full Description

{1} Newspaper article and note giving the approximate location of the Daventry Radar Experiment. The location is in Stowe Nine Churches. The location on the memorial to celebrate this is on Borough Hill Daventry and this is where the other part of Mon 8506/1 is roughly located. {2} Article says it is Staverton so see 8506/1 as well for details.

{3} There is a memorial at this point in Stowe IX Churches. It was erected by Rex Boyes. In this field in 1935, Robert Watson-Watt and Arnold Wilkins showed for the first time in Britain that aircraft could be detected by bouncing radio waves off them [more information on history].
