Monument record 769 - Possible Prehistoric Settlement, west of Grimscote

Please read our .

Summary

Cropmarks of a probable Iron Age settlement identified on aerial photographs during the Northamptonshire NMP. The cropmarks include a square enclosure with a probable entrance in the south-western corner. The south-eastern corner of the enclosure has been sub-divided with an internal ditch and within this is a possible roundhouse ring ditch. To the west of the enclosure two parallel ditches aligned north-east to south-west may be part of an associated trackway.
