Full Description

{1} A garden only a few yards from the Towcester North Gate, contains a large Attic base from an attached classical column in Ketton stone which must have carried a column of something like 15 feet in height. It can not be lifted by two so can not casually have been brought onto the site. However, C Woodfield thinks that it is almost too classically correct to be Roman.
