Full Description

{1} The earliest deposit revealed in the service trench was stone free dark brown clay-silt, form a depth of 0.8m below the present ground level. This was only revealed from a point 11m north-west of the street frontage, and extended north-eastwards. No finds were recovered. This deposit corresponds to deposit 103 revealed in the 1997 trial trenching, and is interpreted as representing a post medieval cultivation soil.
