Full Description

{1} The metalled road revealed is possibly part of the Gartree Road. A roadside ditch was also revealed. Pottery recovered dated from early C2nd to early C4th AD. The road was 7m wide and comprised gravel and limestone slabs. Metalling was placed over stakes on the edge of the river and may represent dumping.
