Full Description
{1} The finds included a collection of Romano-British pottery of 2nd-3rd century date; there were also two pieces of hypocause flue tile, a lot of burnt stone and plenty of teeth and bones. There were 771 pottery sherds, 64% of which were soft pink grog. They included a few pieces of Samian ware and other decorated ware.
It is thought that there enough evidence was picked up to suggest that a late Romano-British farmstead. It is suggested that this site may be a case of continuity of occupation at Rainsborough Camp, whose entrance is only 100m to the east.
