Monument record 1908 - Undated settlement

Sub-rectangular enclosures on air photos.

{1} Enclosures (SP 930724), E. of Finedon, on Boulder Clay at 91m above OD. Air photographs (in NMR) show two sub-rectangular enclosures, one with an entrance to the S.E. Between them is a length of ditch
running N.E-S.W., to which is linked, by a curving length of ditch, a roughly circular enclosure with an entrance on the S.E. side.

{2} Air photos taken in 1970 show two sub-rectangular enclosures, each of c.0.5 acre, one with an entrance opening to the east. Between them, a length of ditch running north east - south west, to which is linked on the west by a curving length of ditch, a roughly circular enclosure with an entrance gap on the east.
