Monument record 2476 - Possible Iron Age/Romano-British settlement
Please read our guidance about the use of Northamptonshire Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
Cropmarks of enclosures, trackways and ditches identified on aerial photographs. The cropmarks were interpreted as medieval during the Northants NMP project, but subsequent archaeological investigation has indicated that they belong to an earlier Iron Age/Roman phase of activity.

Full Description
{1} Soilmarks of an enclosure and linear ditches. NCCAP:SP9283/004.
{2} Geophysical survey identified a grouping of anomalies covering an area approximately 55m x 50m including a likely ring ditch with associated ditches, pit-like anomalies and an area of possible burning or kiln. These features are surrounded by a cluster of discrete anomalies. A curvilinear anomaly to the north of this grouping of anomalies may be a possible enclosure ditch
