Full Description
{1] Geophysical survey was undertaken prior to the construction of a wind turbine and access road. It revealed a significant complex of rectilinear and curvilinear enclosures of probable Iron Age or Romano-British date associated with a boundary ditch already identified as a cropmark. Also identified were a number of pits and anomalies that may represent kilns or hearths.
{2} Faint cropmarks of a possible Iron Age or Roman rectangular enclosure, possibly part of a small settlement or farmstead located at TL 0748 9035, to the south-west of Warmington which is visible on aerial photographs taken in 2015 as part of the Historic England Reconnaissance Recording programme. Finds in this vicinity [HER 2619/0/3] suggest the presence of a 3rd century AD Roman settlement.
