Monument record 3402 - Possible Iron Age Settlement, east of Furze Farm

Iron Age sherds and stone finds were noted in 1963. Trial excavation in 1963/4 identified a ditch filled with large pebbles and Iron Age pottery.

{1} Area of SP 827568. Iron Age pottery and patches of stone seen 1963. Trial excavations in 1963/4 located a ditch filled with large pebbles containing black hand made Iron Age pottery with finger nail decoration on the rim, and animal bones.
