Monument record 3530 - Prehistoric land boundaries, south-west of Cringle House

Please read our .

Summary

Cropmarks of multiple pit alignments and boundary ditches identified on aerial photographs during the Northants NMP. The boundary features are closely spaced, parallel and aligned north-east to south-west. They were traced for over 800m and comprise a mix of pits and ditch sections, sometimes intermingled. The boundaries are an element of the wider landscape of pit alignments recorded as cropmarks and excavated as part of the Wollaston Quarry excavations. Parts of these pit alignments were excavated in 'Settlement 8' and elsewhere. The same alignment was retained in later routeways.
