Type and Period (1)

Full Description

{2} Found in 1937; a probable Saxon or medieval iron spearhead found during development work for Wootton West Bridge foundations. The split socket suggests a Saxon date, however its small size and good state of preservation suggests a medieval date. (SP 7575 5600). An iron spearhead was found in excavations for Wootton West Bridge foundations, 1937. Mr R C Pollock of 136 Ashbournham Rd, Northampton gave it to Northampton Museum

{4} In Northampton Museum, but not classified. Split socket suggests Saxon but its small size and good state of preservation perhaps make it medieval
